External Pressure Pipe Inspection

PPCC is partnered with KenWave to offer non-invasive pipeline condition assessment using an external, vibroacoustic inspection method. This vibroacoustic inspection method is called Dynamic Response Imaging™ (DRI™). KenWave can inspect pipelines for stiffness without interrupting service and without making contact with the water column. Stiffness is translated to remaining wall thickness once accurate pipe specs are known.

This new technology is helpful to inspect pipelines that cannot be dewatered or interrupted due to demand or lack of redundancy. Three connection points are required on existing appurtenances or on the outside of the pipeline. The distance between those access points is determined by pipe type, size and desired inspection resolution.
