Leak Detection

PPCC offers in-line leak detection/reconnaissance sphere inspections for water mains and force mains. We utilize Insight Water Technology’s neutrally buoyant leak detection technology. It is the only trackable, neutrally buoyant leak detection device available.

A reconnaissance sphere can identify and locate leaks, gas pockets, elevation changes and other anomalies. In force mains, the location of high points and gas pockets can inform focus on those areas for ARV installation/repair and NDT testing due to increased likelihood of failure.

Insight’s device recently broke a world record for traveling 101-miles from one insertion point in Corpus Christi, Texas and won an award for the 2025 Asset Management Project of the Year at the Underground Infrastructure Conference.
